Fishing

Anyone can fish freely with a live bait and jig in Espoo. Nets and other fixed traps require specific permits sold only to Espoo residents.

Permits for lure fishing are available also for visitors. All permits are sold in the city's joint service points. A map of Espoo fishing waters is included in the price. The same permit covers fishing areas of total 8 000 hectares around the Espoo seafront and the Bylandet island in Kirkkonummi. Tens of thousands of sea trout and pike fry are introduced to these areas every year.
