An adventure in biodiversity

As you walk along the forest path, you start to breathe easily, your heart beats slower. You look around. The soft, green carpet of moss lining the path beckons you closer.

You stop, crouch down and examine the soft forest floor. The shapes of moss leaves and stems come into detail; their growth patterns intrigue you. Soon, you distinguish two, perhaps three clear moss species, not just a green blanket. Your curiosity is piqued and you want to know the names of the species growing on the forest floor.

Welcome to an adventure in the diverse world of nature, where you begin to see details, shapes, patterns, and species in a new way. You will learn to use your phone camera to observe nature and identify species.

Every adventure in nature offers something new and unique. You never know what you’ll encounter when you look more closely.

Besides enjoying being in nature, you will get to:
• observe nature more closely.
• identify species using different apps.
• learn new things about nature.
• appreciate the diversity of nature.
• use many of your senses.

The adventure takes place in Nuuksio's Solvalla. We leave from the corner of the big carpark at Haltia to find species from the forest and a bog.

At the end of the event, each participant will receive a souvenir of Finnish biodiversity of after identifying and presenting a species.
