Sea and archipelago

Iso Vasikkasaari

Iso Vasikkasaari is a popular recretional island among locals and families only few minutes from the mainland. Spend a summer day end enjoy the maritime atmosphere.

Iso Vasikkasaari island is popular for short visits and daily trips among the local people due to the regular boat services that operate throughout summer from June until August several times during the day. There are several cooking shelters and fireplaces on the island and the city of Espoo takes care of firewood. From the observation tower, it is possible to admire beautiful sea views. There is also a big playground, lawn areas, and a swimming beach for a nice summer day outdoors. The nature trails are partly suitable for physically handicapped people

Camping is not allowed on this island. Perhaps the most unique building on all of Espoo’s islands, a pavilion imitating a temple to Poseidon, is situated in the private area. On the island, there is an old fisherman’s cabin, which serves as a kiosk and café. The summer restaurant Gula Villan operates on the island

Scheduled archipelago boats operate on daily basis in the summertime (not on Mondays). Time schedules can be checked on https://www.hsl.fi/en
