Sustainable urban hikes
Have you already been sightseeing Helsinki and want to experience something new outside the city center? Metroretket company is providing urban hiking and walking tours in City of Espoo and Helsinki. Your local guide will quickly take you or your group to the city nature. It’s easy to attend tours from the metro stations. During the tour you’ll experience the beauty of the Finnish nature and architecture. You'll also hear stories about history and future of the different areas. The best thing is that you can have a little adventure not far away from hustle and bustle of the two biggest cities of Finland.
Walking Tours
Starting points of our walking tours are along metro line from eastern Helsinki to west in Espoo. We have six already planned tours. Additionally we can plan hikes and tours with different kind of themes to fulfill your wishes. Here are some examples: If you are busy, join our urban hike to historical Kivinokka Helsinki. There you can see how residents of Helsinki used to enjoy their little “summer huts” and they still do. It takes only 10 minutes by metro and there’s 2 kilometers walk to Kivinokka.
There’s also eight new metro stations with interesting architecture, art and award winning lighting. If you are interested in new stations, book a hike for example to Koivusaari Helsinki or Keilaniemi Espoo. If you have plenty of time, book a bit longer hike and combine culture and walking in Tapiola Espoo. Read more
Hiking and accessibility
We are using pavements, walking lanes and forest trails during the hike. That’s why it’s important to wear good walking shoes. Remember to dress yourself according to weather. Espoo and Helsinki can be quite windy cities especially by the waterfronts. Otherwise clothing doesn’t matter. You can have little snacks and water bottle with you. We can also visit local cafes.
Most of our hiking tours as well as metro stations are accessible. However we suggest that you contact our company to be sure that the tour is suitable for you. It’s the same if you want to hike with children. Remember that we are always happy to help you. Already planned hiking tours take approx. 2-3 hours.
