Oravankolo and Tikankolo

Oravankolo

Located in the north end of lake Ruuhilampi, a small forest lake. This lodge was originally built in 1946 as a summer cabin. Please remember to bring with You outdoor equipment and an adventurous spirit.

Cabin equipment and facilities:

• Accomodation for five persons: bunk beds, mattresses and pillows.
• No running water or electricity.
• Wood-heated stove, gas-heated hotplate
• Sauna and sauna equipment (water containers etc.)
• Dry toilet, compost* Kitchen equipment: pots, pans, coffee pot
• A saw & an axe (You must chop your own firewood). 
• Rowing boat & two life vests
• A campfire site, located on the lakeshore (making an open fire during wildfire season prohibited).
• Oravankolo adheres to the principles of trashless camping – take everything You can’t burn or compost with You when You leave.

Tikankolo

Located on the lake Saarilampi shore in the western part of the Nuuksio national park, was originally built in the 1950s as an accommodation for forest workers and comprises of two rooms and a separate sauna. Located about a kilometer away from the nearest parking lot and some 3–6 kilometers from the nearest bus stops, You will need to hike the rest of the way to the cabin. Please bring outdoor equipment and an adventurous spirit with You.

• Accomodation for six persons: Bunk beds, mattresses and pillows. 
• No running water or running water. 
• Wood-heated stove and oven.
• Gas-heated hotplate.
• Pots, pans and a coffee pot.
• Fire extinguisher, fire blanket.
• Sauna and sauna equipment (water containers etc.)
• Dry toilet and compost. 
• An outdoor campfire site. 
• A saw and an axe (You must chop your own firewood).
• Rowing boat and two life vests. 
• Tikankolo adheres to the principles of trashless camping – take everything You can’t burn or compost with You when You leave.

Supplies You need to bring with You: 

• Drinking water (water for sauna can be carried from the lake).
• Sleeping bags.
• Matchsticks and candles. 
• A flashlight/battery-powered light is advisable. 
• Foodstuffs and cutlery.
• First aid kit.
