Summer is here despite the difficult times we all have faced due to the coronavirus. The travel and tourism services in Espoo and neighboring areas are opening their doors step by step. All the service providers here are committed to follow the guidelines and the instructions given by the Finnish Government and the Finnish health authorities.

The priority is safety for all of us and we want everyone can experience, explore and enjoy services safely. Sustainability and responsibility are key factors on which the city and its players have been working for years. Espoo is like Finland in miniature. The beautiful and versatile nature is surrounding our city; in the south you can get touch with unspoiled coastal and archipelago area and when heading to the north you can experience the true Finnish wilderness in Nuuksio National Park. Nature sites can be visited following the basic rules and guidance from the health authorities.

Most of the accommodation possibilities are located in the middle of the nature either by forests, lakes or by the sea. In these properties you don’t need to worry about the crowds. Restaurants and cafés are permitted to open their doors on 1st June onwards for public with limited number of guests and specific hygiene instructions. In addition to have lunch or dinner on spot in the restaurants, many of them still offer the possibility to take away too.


Nokkalan Majakka - a seaside café-restaurant where you can enjoy wonderful scenery of the sea all year round.

Restaurant Fat Lizard – Get ready to loosen your belt! A popular restaurant that prepares food by flaming, grilling, drying and smoking. Beside delicious food, an amazing selection of local craft breweries´ beers.

Restaurant PLATS - is not only a restaurant, it is a place where Nordic art and design meet delicious Nordic cuisine while adoring the coastal archipelago. Located at Hotel Hanaholmen.

Archipelago Restaurant Paven – Located on Pentala Island and reachable by Espoo Archipelago boats throughout the summer. The Pearl of Espoo Archipelago together with the unique Archipelago Museum Pentala.

The Government of Finland has given the permission to open museums and other public gatherings. All the museums in Espoo will open their doors in the beginning of June and are open throughout the summer.

The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia – experience the whole Finland’s nature from southern archipelago till snowy fells of Lapland and all diverse 40 national parks.

The Exhibition Centre WeeGee – under one roof and with one admission fee it is possible to experience four different museums: EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, KAMU – Espoo City Museum, Hevosenkenkä

Archipelago Museum Pentala – a unique museum area in the whole Finland that showcases the history of archipelago life. Located on an old fisherman´s estate on Pentala island and accessible by Espoo archipelago boats from 6th June on.

Glims Farmstead MuseumLiving history all year round! Glims is an old farm where you can get familiar with how people used to live in Espoo decades and centuries ago.

Gallen-Kallela Museum – The beautiful surroundings and unique architecture of the Gallen-Kallela Museum provide a fine setting for a museum visit. Designed and built by the Finnish national artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela.

Helinä Rautavaara Museum – The museum presents ethnographic artefacts and information about cultures from around the world. The museum’s exhibitions, collections and audience work showcase a variety of views of Finland as well as that of other cultures.


Water Sport Centre Laguuni – Laguuni is a floating oasis for various watersports. It offers top-notch conditions for stand-up paddling, sup polo, wakeboarding, kayaking and flyboarding. The first floating aquapark in Finland offers great fun for all at Laguuni. Open until  September 27.

NEW! Sea Adventures Finland arranges daily departures for RIB safari tours to Espoo Archipelago. Experience Espoo Archipelago totally different way.

Tree Top Adventure Park & Adventure Golf HUIPPU – a high ropes adventure area providing a series of courses that allow the active adventurer to move from tree to tree in a secure harness. Adventure Golf course is a fun miniature golf experience for all ages.

Lunch and Dinner cruises by Espoo Line – Espoo Line offers guided lunch and dinner cruises operated with cozy RoyalCat Restaurant boat in Espoo Archipelago, until the end of August.
