How to arrive and get around

Espoo enjoys an excellent location adjoining the capital, Helsinki, on the south coast of Finland. It is just a few minutes from Helsinki City Center, a 30-minute drive from Helsinki Airport, 1.5 hours from Turku, or 2 hours from Tampere.

Arriving and getting around Espoo is fast and convenient by using public transportation. You can use public transportation with the HSL application (available for download here) or opt for the contactless payment method. HSL tickets can be used in the metro, local trains, tram, light rail, and bus networks across Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa. You can purchase a single ticket, a 1-day ticket, or a multiple-day ticket for different zones (each ticket covers at least two zones). The City of Espoo is located in zones B and C. Helsinki City Centre is in zone A, and Helsinki Airport is in zone C.
