Venues and meeting capacity in Espoo

As a popular conference city, Espoo offers versatile meeting facilities, from dedicated congress centres and conference hotels to historical manors and villas by forest lakes.

The biggest venues, Dipoli and Aalto University's Undergraduate Center in the Otaniemi campus area and Espoo Metro Areena in the Tapiola Sports Park can easily be reached by metro from the Helsinki city centre and other local centres of Espoo.

In case you haven't discovered it yet, here's an intriguing fact about Espoo: it defies the concept of a single city centre. Instead, the city boasts a unique urban structure built around not one but five distinctive centres.

Espoo is ideal for 500-700 persons conferences and seminars, but space is also available for events that attract 1000-3000 delegates.

Biggest venues

  • Dipoli - the main building of Aalto University: Meeting facilities for up to 1000 delegate congress in theatre and 600 classrooms style. Dipoli can also host 600-800 delegate dinners.
  • Otakaari 1 - The Undergraduate Centre of Aalto University: 10 auditoriums (for 70-600 persons) and smaller classrooms for meetings and workshops.
  • Espoo Metro Areena, seating capacity: Lower stands 3 089, upper stands 2 831 and Arena-level maximum 2 100 persons.

Congress hotels

Hanasaari, Korpilampi, Majvik, and Långvik are the largest congress hotels in the Espoo area, with capacities ranging from 240 to 400 participants.

Hanasaari is nestled in a stunning archipelago setting near Helsinki city center and just a 10-minute drive from Otaniemi. On the other hand, Korpilampi, Majvik, and Långvik are slightly further away from the city buzz, yet still within a 20-40 minute drive from Helsinki city center and Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport.

These congress hotels share extensive experience in organising international seminars and locations in maritime or forest landscapes. Furthermore, they hold third-party-issued environmental certifications as evidence of their commitment to promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism.
