There are different levels of nature trails near Haltia. Choose the one for your liking.

The Finnish Nature Center Haltia is reachable by the public busses and the bus stop is right next to Haltia. There is also a parking area for cars with some free-of-charge electric charging points.

Maahisenkierros trail

This easy and accessible circle trail offers spectacular and beautiful views over the lake Pitkäjärvi. Maahisenkierros is an easy and beautiful trail near the Finnish Nature Center Haltia´s services. The best part is the accessible lookout point where you can admire the beautiful view over the biggest lake in Nuuksio, Lake Pitkäjärvi. There are several benches along the trail where you can take a break. The trail is suitable for the whole family and for those who go by wheelchairs or with prams. The starting point is on the hill on the left side of the Solvalla Areena. Combine great moments outdoors with a visit to the Finnish Nature Center Haltia and enjoy their exhibitions and restaurant services alike. You can also find a customer service desk and a souvenir shop at Haltia. Maahisenkierros is marked with wheelchair and lookout point signs. During the wintertime there is appr. 2,5 kilometers long snowshoeing trail in this area. Snowshoes can be rent at Haltia. The route is also suitable for prams and wheelchairs with the assistant. No winter maintenance.

Päivättärenpolku Trail

This circle nature trail starts from Haltia´s parking area by the red info shed. This short but quite challenging trail (due to the steep climbs) is appr. 1,5 kilometers long. It is a nice trail to get to know Nuuksio´s nature if you have time only for a short getaway. You can easily combine this trail with other Nuuksio´s trails f ex. Haltia-Haukkalampi connection trail. Along the trail, there are information signs which provide interesting information on the nature in Nuuksio. Along the trail, there is Aarnituli campfire place which can be booked for private use at Haltia customer service desk. The trail is marked with pinecone symbols. Make a visit to the Finnish Nature Center Haltia and its exhibitions and other services before or after your relaxing moment in nature. The route is intermediate because of the steep climbs. No winter maintenance.

Haltia – Haukkalampi Connecting Trail

When starting from the Finnish Nature Center Haltia, Connecting Trail runs from Päivättärenpolku Trail to Haukkalampi in the heart of Nuuksio National Park. The trail is perfect for experienced hikers who want to challenge themselves.

The trail includes challenging uphills and downhills but in the steepest part, there are stairs. Along the trail, hikers have the possibility to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Nuuksio´s largest lake, Lake Pitkäjärvi. There’s a campfire and picnic site on the northern shore of lake Pitkäjärvi. Take a break before heading on to the forest. The route is marked with orange with black stripes. If you start the trail from Haukkalampi, it starts from the main entrance, next to Natura Viva´s Hawk Nest where you find a cafeteria, gear rental services, a water post, and an outhouse. At the Finnish Nature Center Haltia, you can make a visit to their exhibitions, have lunch in the restaurant and have a blissful break. There are also WC facilities at Haltia. The trail is suitable for experienced hikers as there are steep uphills and downhills along the way.

The Secret of the Red Feather – nature trail

The nature trail is suitable for the whole family, especially for the youngest members as there are many interesting tasks along the trail. Can you find out the mystery of the red feather? The trail starts next to the campfire site in the Finnish Nature Center Haltia´s event field and is situated on a forested slope. There is a rest area along the trail which is an ideal place to take a break to enjoy a delicious snack. Combine this trail with a visit to Haltia and its exhibitions and other services and have a great day in Nuuksio with your family. The trail is easy to walk but is not suitable for strollers.
