During the summer (June-August), Espoo's archipelago opens up to explorers and visitors. Hop on a scheduled public boat and visit five unique islands: Pentala, Iso Vasikkasaari, Gåsgrund, Stora Herrö, and Rövaren. Whether you choose to spend a relaxed day on a single island, hop between several in one day, or stay overnight camping on the more wilderness-like islands, the choice is yours. From Espoo, it's also easy to continue your seaside adventure towards the waters and islands of Helsinki.
Espoo's public boat network includes four main routes departing from nine small harbours along the coast. Choose a direct line to Pentala or Iso Vasikkasaari, or enjoy a scenic route line from Otaniemi or Kivenlahti, each stopping at three different islands along the way.
