Welcome to the cross-country skiing paradise with hundreds of kilometers of skiing trails, excellent conditions, and skiing being part of everyday life (or even a type of commute to work or school).
During the winter months, you can find up to 200 km of cross-country skiing trails with about 60 km of illuminated trails between 6:00 and 22:00. The skiing season itself usually starts during November with the first mix of natural and artificial snow landing in the Oittaa Recreational Area, and later also in Leppävaara District. Thanks to the snow mixture, you can enjoy skiing in these areas up to April or even the beginning of May.

Cross-Country Skiing Trail Etiquette
- Be considerate. Ski on the right and pass on the left. Faster skiers yield to the slower ones.
- Skiing trails - classic cross-country tracks and skating lanes - are for skiing only. Please do not walk or snowshoe on skiing trails.
- Skiers going uphill yield to those going downhill. Keep your distance, especially in downhill sections.
- If you need to take a break, please move off the track. Take advantage of the maintained campfire sites and wilderness cafes along the trail when possible.
