Feeling the wind breeze on your face and the snow around you can be a fun way to find your inner Finn. Winter months in Espoo offer many fantastic winter activities, including sledding down local hills. We made a list of the most popular sledding spots around the city, so you can enjoy this on-budget winter activity around Espoo and nearby areas, too! Let's have a look!

Olari Sledding Hill 

An excellent sledding place for the whole family located near Olari School.

Location: The sledding area is accessible from the streets Ylismäentie or Olarinniityntie.

Services: In the area, you can also find a cross-country skiing trail, dog park, or Olari tennis hall. More services are located about 1,2 km away in the Olari district.

Matinlahti Park sledding hill "Matinkylä waste hill" 

Location: Near the Matinlahti street or Rantaharju street.

Services: Food markets and Shopping mall Iso Omena are 750m-1,5km away. In the nearby area, you can also find a children's playground or dog park. Seaside beach is situated only 750m away by walking.

Westend sledding hill "Westend Alps"

It is a popular sledding place located by original sledding hills and surrounded by Westend workout stairs.

Location: The hill is located along Westendinkatu Street, and the nearest parking lot is near the Westendinpuisto schoolyard.

Services: The nearest food market is located about 800m away.

Oittaa Recreational Area

An outdoor area that offers a variety of winter activities, from a sledding hill to cross-country skiing trails and nature trails.

Location: The sledding hill is located at the southern end of Lake Bodom (Kunnarlantie 33-39).

Services: Oittaa's restaurant is located next to the Hiihtocenter equipment rental and offers sweet and salty refreshments and hot drinks. Barbeque and outdoor cooking shelters are available in the area.

Espoonlahti’s "Stable Hill"

Location: Opposite to the Espoonlahti's horse stable.

Services: Food markets and shopping mall Lippulaiva are located about 1,4km away.

Espoo Center Sledding Hill

Location: The hill is located near the Farmstead Museum GLIMS.

Services: Popular Bembölen Kahvitupa Café is located nearby and offers a great selection of food and drinks in the traditional old wooden house.
